Reading freshman essays always makes me incredibly depressed :(

Nothing is more annoying than being in a theater in front of a row of obnoxious teenagers, turning around to give them the evil eye, and realizing that half of them are your own students.

Man, I seriously do not want to teach tomorrow.

Why is summer never long enough?

I know, I know, I shouldn't complain when I get summers off in the first place. But, still. I have students tomorrow! Actual students. Who are expecting to learn things. Ick.

Yesterday I chaperoned the eighth grade class trip to Dorney Park. It was tons of fun and I hardly got sunburned at all, which I consider a major accomplishment.

I saw Ocean's 13 today, which I enjoyed a great deal, but I will talk about it later because my sister has come to visit me. Huzzah!

Today I went shopping and bought pretty new dresses that I did not actually need and which set me back quite a bit, but they are beautiful and fit very well, so I am happy ( Read more... )

Today I climbed out on the roof of my school to take the '07 picture for our yearbook -- you know, the obligatory picture where the students stand in the shape of the numerals of their graduation year. Today one of my eighth grade boys came to visit me last period. He wears his pants belted ridiculously low -- so low even I think it's inappropriate, and I am extremely laid back about these things compared to all the other teachers at my school.
